It has been eight weeks since we left Italy, and I have had time to reflect upon the time I spent artist residency at Arte Studio Ginestrelle, Assisi.  The opportunity to return to Assisi to examine the façade of San Rufino Cathedral, spend time at both Basilicas and museums, source the cotton thread and linen fabric was more successful than I had hoped for.  

 

The cultural and historical environment of Assisi, and the generous support from the Director Marina Merli, made the experience very enjoyable.

I will spend the next few months finalising my writing and working to complete the body of works for my Masters by Research examination exhibition early 2020.  My thoughts, of course will be turning to Assisi, Arte Studio Ginestrelle during this time.
