When you go looking for me, I am not there.... She series

When women don’t have access to public voices, their stories may be told through symbols and sewing, publicly viewed but understood by an audience of intimates.

Basing this body of work on the concept of drawing with thread to manifest content,  I started in my contemporary application of the four hundred year old Punto Assisi tradition with an understanding of the rules and limitations I would adhere to, and those transgressions I would make to ensure the works were my own.

This work is now showing at the Post Office Gallery, Sturt Street, Ballarat as the culmination of a practice-led  Masters project at the School of Arts, Federation University. In 2017 was awarded an Australian Research Training Program Fee Offset Scholarship through Federation University Australia.
